Our Teen and Adult Martial Arts program is designed to teach our
students a high level of self-defense with many other benefits.
Our students soon discover that Abilene Mixed Martial Arts is more
than just punches and kicks!
Our program will help you stay in shape. You will
gain flexibility through our stretching techniques which will decrease
your chances of injury in sports and everyday life. You will build
strength and tone your body with our dynamic, isometric, and repetitive
exercises. You will gain confidence and self-esteem by improving
your physical fitness, body composition, skill level and self-defense
skills.

difference between martial arts training and standard exercise programs.

health club type exercise programs.

defend yourself, if you have to.

very hard to insure that our students learn to defend themselves with practical
self-defense techniques.
Our program is a lot of fun
The reason our program is so successful is because we make the classes fun
and exciting. We learned a long time ago that when our students are having
fun they learn much faster.
In our Teen and Adult Martial Arts classes we have
incorporated Tae Kwon Do with Advanced Programs which include
American Kenpo, Oshito-Ryu, Aikido, Judo, Goju-Ryu, Japanese Jiu-Jitsu,
and Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu. As a result our TKD classes have become
a well rounded self defense class allowing our students to be comfortable
from all distances.
Tae-Kwon-Do class
Tae-Kwon-Do translates to hand and
foot, this class utilizes punches and kicks. But at Abilene Mixed Martial Arts we have included several martial arts into this
class to make you a well rounded martial artist. American Kenpo class
We also incorporate Aikido and Japanese
Jiu-jitsu , and Escrima (stick fighting) into this class.
Oshito-Ryu class
This is our Combat Martial Arts class and is for
the aggressive person. In this class, students will be kicking
each others legs, doing judo throws, and fighting on the ground.
This in essence is the type of fighting that you would see in a
UFC type of event, but you will have controlled classes.
Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu class
Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu is a class
that will teach you how to defend your self from the ground.
There is always a chance that you may get knocked down, trip
and fall etc. but you must know what to do from there. In
a rape situation females will be on the ground, on your back
with some ugly guy between your legs holding you down. He
thinks he is in charge…..But from this position you can
choke him, break his arm (see pictures below) stand up, or simply
roll him off of you. This class puts the power back into your hands.
